In the picture, the focus is again on telling a story but this one is of pain and suffering. In Rwanda this man was mutilated under suspicion of sympathizing with rebel forces in the country. The photographer hoped this photo would help send the message that not all is well in the world and people need help being safe from torture and oppression. Just the look of pain and suffering in the eyes of the individual is enough to make someone wish to help not to mention the massive scars that cover half of his head. I think this picture really shows how photography can be used to send a message and make others aware of whats going on across the globe.
