I feel that there is a lot of symbolism that can be taken from this image. One of them of course being the facades people wear when they step out into the public eye--in this case makeup.
I love how you can see the crackling texture of the mud mask (that's what I think it is) in such close detail. The eyes however are a bit distracting because they've obviously been Photoshopped.
