The pictiure shows two young children in the middle of the street, and they're dancing. A white girl and a black boy are strong contrast. The scene is joyful and peaceful which shows the view of children on street in New York City back in early 20 century. She captured the happy moment of children because children are pure and they are the symbol of happiness. Levitt recorded the valuable  moment of life.
